I am just wondering, what ever happened to UT navy? Did everyone just delete the files or what? _________________

I think Monarch wanted more time to concentrate on AP and AA. The Navy mod wasn't that effective anyways considering the lack of maps that could support it. I will be working on 4 new Onslaught maps large enough to encompus all of Monarch's vehiles, ships, and bikes. 1 map is basically finished, just waiting on Airpower V 4 and some a bug fix on the UTnavy.
All of my maps will allwayz include Monarch's vehiles.

What bug would that be? The fact the battleships seem to fly or UT crashes when you enter the attack sub? I personally like the flying battleship, went on the ONS navy map, couldn't find it, then I looked up... "OMFG, what the heck is it doing up there?" Got a laugh out of the gamers at the cyber cafe, gaming center, or whatever people call the place I go game at.

I also get this error when placing Jets in the map. It seems that the jets when spawned, their engines are already on.
I was wondering if I need to run the map on a dedicated server and set it up as a "package"? or MOD? _________________ "if it works, sumpin wong" |

Well i can make maps too, Im planing to build viecle ctf with lake for navy and land for bikes and ...
Allso for airplanes!

I know this might freak you and everyone else out whom reads this but I have been building my terrain in terrain editor designed to work with Quake2 and Halflife. Its calledTerrain Generator V 3. I love it because it has alot more flexiblity in some areas and best of all I don't have to Load Unreal Ed simply to design terrain. I can save my terrains as projects too. When I'm all done, I simply "export" it as a "heightmap" then import it into Unreal ED. One small thing tho. If you make a 256x256.256 terrain in this program and export it, it exports it as 257x257x257 so I emailed the author and brought it to his attention. To make my 256x256x256 out of the 257xxx that Terrain Generator exported, I simply opened up my terrain.bmp and resized it in Photoshop. Now 256x+3 , is kinda large but it works. My next map I might tone it down to 128X128X128. (Understand: the demensions you decide to sculp with has no effect on how large or small it will be in Unreal ED. Remember this will be saved as a "grayscale heightmap" anyway. You will scale you map in UnrealEd to make it larger or smaller via the X,Y,Z axis. Now, the program texture features requires Quake2 or Halflife directory, but I haven't tried it but I think you might be able to fool the program into thinking you have Quake2 simply by creating a directory:
C:\Quake2
then create a dir called:
C:\Quake2\textures
now in this texture directory you want to place some quake2 compatible textures. not many as they will be used as your terrain texures. This is done only if you want to sculp your terrain in with textures applied to them. Personally I have grown accustomed to using wireframe when I'm designing because I am able to look at the triangles & verticies.
When I'm done and I export the heightmap into UnrealEd as a *.bmp. I just apply some finsihing touches by Using the 'smooth' tool. Or If i want to do further editing I can.
Note: I don't think you have to have Quake2 or Halflife installed to use the program tho.
I used Snagit to take my screenshot and saved it as a PNG.
For the skybox, I simply pulled some Quake2 skybox pcx files and placed them also in my textures directory and pointed Terrain Generator to them. Terrain Geneator also has sunlight effect also so you can see shadows.

I've been plundering along with some Navy updates and maps, people. It's been slow now for about 1.5 months (i.e. I haven't done anything that amount of time), but Lord_Buggy had been helping the push before that time, too.
NOTE: I have previously asked Monarch whether it's okay to play around with the Navy, and he said it was fine.
ARGH - I have more to say but an emergency is pulling me away.
